This page provides an overview of the BNY Mellon Marketplace onboarding process.

", "expressInterest": "

Each API and Application in the Marketplace Catalog is accompanied by a summary of features and benefits, along with an Express Interest button. When you click the Express interest button, the Express Interest Form appears.

For users who are not currently BNY Mellon clients, the Express Interest form is the initial step towards onboarding to the BNY Mellon Marketplace. After you submit the form, a Marketplace representative will contact you within 24-48 hours to communicate next steps in the onboarding process.

NOTE: For existing clients, the best way to proceed is to contact your BNY Mellon Relationship manager

", "obtainLoginCredentials": "

Pending verification and execution of any required forms, you will be emailed Marketplace login credentials (user ID, password).

Once logged in you will have access to view additional details and documentation for all Applications and APIs in the Marketplace. You will also have access to an interactive feature that allows you to “Try This API” (see Try This API section below) as well as the ability to test against a sandbox environment with synthetic data (see Authenticate and Integrate API section below).

", "tryThisAPI": "

Try This API is an interactive feature that allows you to view requests and responses from a subset of available API endpoints. To help you quickly test an API, the Try This API does not require authentication or authorization; however, it is important to note that it uses synthetic data only (i.e., request and response data is not connected to a BNY Mellon backend or database).

To use the Try This API:

  1. From the Marketplace Catalog, click the Documentation button for any API. The Try This API appears on the right of the Documentation page.
  2. Use the radio buttons to select an API endpoint.
  3. Click Send Request.

Response data appears under the Generated Response heading.

", "signTermsandConditions": "

BNY Mellon requires that each API and application user complete an Electronic Delivery Terms and Conditions (EDTC). The EDTC conveys the terms and conditions for using the BNY Mellon Marketplace. Additional agreements may be required, depending on which APIs and Applications you are interested in. If your organization already uses other BNY Mellon digital services you may have agreements already in place.

A Marketplace representative will email you the required forms and may schedule a pre-onboarding meeting to clarify expectations of certain APIs or Applications.

", "authenticate": "

Once your User IDs are created, you have logged into Marketplace and used the Try This API to test an API’s functionality, it’s time to create the necessary credentials for authentication and to consume the API.

The Marketplace provides access to sandbox for use in developing and testing your application. Once your application is tested using the sandbox environment you can promote your application for use in the production environment.

In addition to the sandbox and production environments the Marketplace also supports a fully separate QA portal and environment. Access and authentication to QA follows a parallel but distinct protocol to the Production Marketplace. This allows for co-development of solutions with clients and third parties and to support more complex onboarding and integration efforts.

Please refer the BNY Mellon Marketplace Client Onboarding Process Document for detailed onboarding and authentication steps.

If you cannot resolve an issue, send an email to Support@bnymellon.com. Include the full request and response with the payload to help us resolve your issue quickly.

", "standards": "

APIs hosted on the BNY Mellon Marketplace are built on open web-based standards:

", "note": "NOTE: The BNY Mellon Marketplace Client Onboarding Process Document conveys the detailed steps required to consume an API (e.g., generating a CSR file for authentication purposes, subscribing to an API, using cURL to consume an example API (HelloWorld API)). You can find a copy of the BNY Mellon Marketplace Client Onboarding Process Document here. Alternatively, you can reach out to your BNY Mellon Relationship Manager or Marketplace representative." } }
